Jeff Hornacek currently leads the Knicks as head coach, and as of January 27, 2017, the team is in third place in the Atlantic Division with a 20-27 record. In his 15th NBA season, small forward Carmelo Anthony leads the team in scoring with 22.7 points per game and in steals with 0.9 per game. He’s followed in points by power forward Kristaps Porzingis, who is averaging 17.7 per game. Porzingis also leads the team in blocked shots per game at 1.9.
Center Joakim Noah has been controlling the boards by averaging 9.1 rebounds per game, while point guard Brandon Jennings is the team’s top facilitator with 4.7 assists per game in his first year with the Knicks. Already past the halfway point of the 2016-17 season, the Knicks are several games out of the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and will need to improve their record to make it to the postseason.
