Based in New York, Susanne Lieu is the managing director of Ruben Companies, a real estate management and development company. Prior to her real estate career, Susanne Lieu held a position as an associate in bankruptcy and litigation, and worked as a judicial clerk under the Honorable Eugene R. Wedoff in the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago. Additionally, Susanne Lieu is a member of WX, an organization supporting women in the real estate profession.

WX is a mentoring program that helps women advance in their real estate careers. The organization's mentors also lend support to aspiring real estate professionals, introducing young women to female leaders in the field of real estate and opening doors of opportunity. WX has a scholarship program to make participation in the mentoring program more widely available to its applicants.

The mentoring program for the 2013-2014 year got its start with an informal cooking class intended to help mentors and their young partners to get to know one another. Later in the season, following the cooking session, real estate mogul Robert White, Jr., updated program participants on the current state of real estate markets. A discussion was held afterward about networking options and the importance of careful communication in the workplace.

Golf Etiquette Suggested by the PGA

Based in New York, Susanne Lieu is managing director with the Ruben Companies, a property management and development group. With nearly two decades in the real estate business, Ms. Lieu has worked with the Ruben Companies since 2001. In addition to career-related pursuits, Susanne Lieu enjoys several hobbies, including playing golf. The following are some of the Professional Golf Association (PGA)'s guidelines for etiquette on the golf course.

- It's a good idea to warm up before playing an official round, working through each type of golf club beginning with short irons and ending with wooden ones.

- Local rules can vary from course to course, so it's important to check them and make sure everyone is comfortable with the established guidelines. It's also polite for each player to mark his or her ball to distinguish them from one another.

- There are certain measures that can keep the pacing equal for groups in front of and behind one another. About 30 to 45 seconds should be allotted for club selection and a shot. In between shots, the walk should be kept to a reasonable speed.

- It's courteous to rake the area behind each step taken and the footprints left by each player. Furthermore, smoothing putting areas after use is a good idea.

These guidelines and more can help a game of golf run fairly and smoothly. For more, visit www.pga.com.
