The WX New York Women Executives in Real Estate is for executive-level women working with commercial real estate in New York. Members are invited to join the association; membership includes real estate developers, brokers, engineers, bankers, and architects. WX aims to promote women in commercial real estate through mentoring programs, scholarships, and educational seminars.
In August 2014, the WX organization hosted a panel about housing in New York at the offices of Shearman & Sterling, LLP, a multinational law firm. The Housing New York program is the brainchild of the organization, and it hopes to build and preserve 200,000 units of affordable housing during the next 10 years. Speakers at the panel explained the basis of the plan, implementation goals, and the impact the plan will have on the city.
